MDP Calendar 2017-18

The institute conducts large number of short duration courses (Management Development Programme) in the areas of Public Expenditure Management, Budgeting, Public Financial Administration, Financial Management, Accounting, Internal Audit, Procurement, Business Analytics, Information Technology, HR etc. All the MDPs whether open or sponsored are generally residential programmes.

1.  Open Programs

These programs are open to all eligible participants. Nominations for the program can be sent to the concerned course director or MDP Cell.

GST Training at NIFM : With Goods and Services Tax (GST), our nation is on the verge of executing one of the most ambitious and remarkable tax reforms in its independent history. GST will have large ramifications on business processes, and with less than three months to the rollout, organisations – both Public and Private, need to be prepared to ensure compliance with the Act, and for benefiting from the seamless pass through of Tax to the final consumer.

NIFM is an Accredited GST Training partner, and is conducting 3-Day comprehensive training on GST. The program brochure may be referred for further details.

GeM & GFRs 2017 Training @ NIFM : Government e-Marketplace (GeM) launched on 9th August 2016, is a one-stop e-Marketplace to facilitate on-line procurement of common use Goods & Services required by various Government  Departments / Organizations / PSUs. The GFRs 2017, which were released in February 2017, are based on a comprehensive review of GFRs 2005 with the aim of promoting simplicity and transparency in the Government financial system and procedures. GFR 149 states inter alia that “The Procurement of Goods and Services by Ministries or Departments will be mandatory for Goods or Services available on GeM.

This two day program enable the participants to Gain an overall understanding of GFRs 2017 and GeM with adequate hands-on training for procuring goods and services on GeM.

B: Public Procurement Program

NIFM is proud to be identified as the nodal agency for conducting training programmes on Public Procurement by Ministry of Finance, GoI. The 6-day intensive residential program provides input on all aspects of Public procurement covering procurement of Goods, Works, Consulting services, Contract Management and hands on training on E-procurement. The fee for the program is paid by Ministry of Finance in case of participants from Central Government ministries, Departments, their attached and subordinate offices, Central autonomous bodies, and Central statutory and Regulatory bodies.

C: International Programs

International Training Program on Budgeting, Accounting and Financial Management: This International program aims at providing officers with a sound grounding on Public Financial management issues. Apart from addressing the recent developments impacting PFM in India such as GST, use of Government e Marketplace (GeM) for public procurement, GFR 2017, the program would also provide a solid grounding on Financial Analytics. Participants will learn to conduct Exploratory Data Analysis using world leading Business Analytics tool—Tableau, and understand the basics of Machine Learning and Data Mining with Application in Finance Domain, enabling government managers to make better use of Public finance data. The two week training at NIFM is followed by a 1 Week International attachment with ICPE, Slovenia where participants would be exposed to some of the relevant PFM practices in Slovenia and the European Union.

2nd Program: 11 September 2017—29 September 2017

3rd Program: 8 January 2018—26 January 2018

The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme was instituted by a decision of the Indian Cabinet on 15 September 1964 as a bilateral programme of assistance of the Government of India. The ITEC Programme, fully funded by the Government of India, has evolved and grown over the years. Under ITEC and its sister programme SCAAP (Special Commonwealth African Assistance Programme), 161 countries in Asia, Africa, East Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean as well as Pacific and Small Island countries are invited to share in the Indian developmental experience acquired over six decades of India's existence as a free nation. D: E-Governance Programs under Capacity Building Scheme

The Digital India programme is a flagship programme of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) has entrusted the implementation of Capacity Building Scheme under Digital India to National e-Governance Division (NeGD). The Capacity Building Scheme aims at providing technical and professional support to State level policy and decision making bodies and to develop specialized skills for e-Governance both at Central Line Ministries and State/UTs.

National Institute of Financial Management (NIFM) has entered into an MoU with NeGD to conduct e Governance related trainings at NIFM. The brochure including calendar for the e-Governance Programs would be made available shortly

2.  Sponsored Programs

These programs are designed and conducted specifically as per needs of the sponsoring organisation. The programs cover a wide range of subjects including Accounts, Audit, Analytics, Public Financial Management and Statistics. Please contact MDP Cell for further details.
